About the course:

DATE: 4th December, 09:00 – 13:00.

What does this course cover?
The session is held virtually on Teams and incorporates realistic scenarios routinely used in this programme, with a professional actor and facilitated by a trained debriefer. This session is designed to provide you with more experience in challenging communications scenarios experienced in paediatrics; it covers some of the most challenging communication skills that would be expected to be acquired training by a Paediatrician.

Who is it for?
This half-day virtual training is aimed at paediatric doctors who are international medical graduates and open to all paediatric doctors in training. It is free to attend for doctors currently working across King’s Health Partners (including King’s College Hospital, GSTT and Evelina London, Royal Brompton and Harefield, South London and Maudsley).

Learning outcomes

To develop knowledge, understanding and skills related to being able to communicate with patients and families especially in the context of complex or potentially challenging conversations. The format is simulation based using role plays between the participants and an actor with facilitator debrief. All participants are expected to participate in these scenarios.
