About the series:

This webinar series is for clinical staff who prescribe or optimise medication for people with severe mental illness. This may include pharmacists, doctors and nurses, to help them meet the physical health needs of service users. On completion of the series, you should be able to confidently use local and national guidelines to support evidence-based management in a range of common co-morbidities. The webinars have been organised by the Mind and Body Team at King’s Health Partners, presented by the pharmacists at King's College Hospital and funded by the Maudsley Charity. There are 12 webinars in this series, each with a video recording and case study:

  • Medicines information resources, including drug interaction and administration resources
  • Drug chart reviews and medicines optimisation techniques
  • Liver disease including acute liver injury, chronic liver disease and interpretation of liver test results
  • Anticoagulants, with a focus on atrial fibrillation
  • Renal medicine, including acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD) and renal replacement therapies (RRT)
  • Hypertension
  • Cardiovasular, with a focus on acute coronary syndorme
  • Diabetes management including monitoring of oral antidiabetics and insulin
  • Heart failure
  • COPD
  • Asthma
  • Bone health management including vitamin D and calcium supplementation
